Our Golden Globe Top Picks

The 2013 Golden Globes were on Sunday night and we totally love some of the hair and makeup looks that we saw. Want to know what we like? Here are our top picks from this year’s Golden Globe Awards!
Jessica Alba. She is definitely a golden girl. It doesn’t feel like winter anymore when we are admiring this coral ensemble! Although her look is matchy, it works really well. We love how she matched her lip color to her purse – sometimes makeup can be your best accessory!
We also loved Alba’s after-party look. This dress is so fun and would be perfect to wear to a rehearsal dinner! Her hair transformed from loose flowing side-waves into a low, side-bun. The coral lip looked incredible with the coral dress, but this black-and-white dress really makes the color pop. It looks fantastic, we love it!
Selma Hayek. Selma is known to be such a classic woman with her hair and makeup choices, as well as her outfits. We love her gorgeous choice of the subtle black sparkle with a vibrant coral lip. She embodies effortless beauty.

Nicole Kidman. She arrived looking flawless with beautiful hair and makeup. We love the soft, bouncy waves paired with clean-looking skin and minimal eye makeup.

Jennifer Lopez. This diva definitely has a staple look. You will always see her with bronzed, dewy skin. We love her side-swept retro waves and her smokey eye. Her skin looks fresh and clean, but think that there may be a little too much glow in J.Lo!

Naomi Watts. We loved Naomi’s modern updo with finger waves. 2013 is turning out to be a Gatsby year, and we think that this look fits in perfectly!

Kerri Washington. We love when we spot the star that goes for the edgier look. There were a lot of soft wavs and retro-glam hairstyles on the carpet, so when we saw Kerri looking like this, we were immediately in love.  She looked completely chic with her shaggy bangs and purple eyeshadow. Did we mention that gorgeous Miu Miu dress?

Taylor Swift. She may still be singing about high school breakups, but there is nothing high school about this look. Taylor definitely transformed from a youthful vibe into a more womanly look with this sleek, sexy retro glamour ensemble. The eggplant dress looks stunning against her light complexion and sandy blond hair. We also love how you see hints of the purple in the eyes, but not too much and that everything else was kept fresh and simple.

Rachel Weisz. She must of known there would be lots of eyes on her as she walked the carpet with James Bond! We love Rachel’s retro-glam hair. It has a deep-part with the top combed with hairspray so it stayed flat. Then her hair transformed into big, loose cascading waves. This hairstyle is so gorgeous on Rachel.

Now, lets hear it for the boys. A noticeable trend at the 2013 Golden Globes was that the men (the smart ones) would be wearing a classic, tailored tuxedo with scruffy facial hair. We love this manly look that can still look approachable and appear dressy at the same time.
Now for nails! Check out these magnificent manicures. On the top left we have Kelly Osbourne’s golden, glittery heart-shaped manicure. Beside that we have Julianne Hough complementing the golden details on her dress with a burgundy nail and a golden french tip. On the bottom left we have Nicole Richie showing off some dark grey nails that look great against her icy blue dress. Lastly, we have Zooey Deschanel’s quirky film strip manicure that is so adorable!

Last, but certainly not least – we have our pick for best dressed. We love Kate Hudson’s gilded Alexander McQueen dress and how the structured statement gown was was paired with a smooth, silky blow out, flawless skin and a defined, but not overly dramatic eye.
What were your favorite looks from the Golden Globes? We would love to know! Do you agree, or disagree with our picks? Leave us your comments below, or on Facebook or Twitter!
