Mardi Gras Makeup Looks

When you think of Mardi Gras, what comes to mind – vibrants colors, parades, beads, celebration and New Orleans? Mardi Gras is a colorful event, but the main colors are purple, green and yellow. In this post we will show you some great eye looks inspired by mardi gras.
This look combines all three mardi gras colors and it looks great! The yellow was used as the highlight on the inner lid, the green was used in the center of the lid and the purple was used to add depth to the crease of the eye. Finish the look off with some eyeliner and mascara, and you have mardi gras-worthy makeup!
This eyeshadow look does not feature a Mardi Gras green, but she has created a very bold look and pulls it off well. A matte yellow was used on the inner corner of the lid until about halfway, then it blends into a lighter purple. This lighter purple then blends into a charcoal grey that is winged outwards to give the eye shape and depth. The lashes give some extra oomph – this look is perfect for any Mardi Gras party!

These next two looks are all about yellow. The first photo features a great look with bright, banana yellow liner on the upper lids. The second look features a more golden yellow as bottom liner that extends past the outer corner of the eye into a winged shape.

Of all of the Mardi Gras colors, green is used the least in the mix because purple and yellow look great together. So here is a greeny-gold eyeshadow look that we found that is party-worth and beautiful. On her lid she has a shimmery gold color on the inner lid that meets an aqua color on the outer portion of the lid. To add depth to this look makeup artists took a matte brown-grey for the crease and brought the eyes out in a winged shape.

We absolutely love this look. Again, this look doesn’t feature any green, but the utilization of the yellow on the innter portion of the eye blending into a purple color looks good enough for any celebration. The purple was blended back into the inner corner of the eye above the yellow to elongate the eyes. Her lashes look great too. This is one of the more daytime wearable looks of Mardi Gras makeup.

This is another great eye look featuring yellow and purples in the spirit of Mardi Gras. Due to the fact that yellow is the lightest color, it was again used on the inner portion on the lid. It was then blended with a charcoal grey color that blended outward in a winged shape in a bright violet color. On the brow bone there was a plum color used from the inner corner of the eye all the way out to meet the winged tip of the violet shadow. This look is multi-dimensional and beautiful. We love that the look isn’t matte and we also love her dark, shaped brows!

Are you doing anything for Mardi Gras? Do you like to get into festivities with interesting hair and makeup – we would love to know!
