Hello MYD beauties!!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year and I’ve got the perfect dramatic makeup look for you! This look is great for any upcoming holiday event you have. To learn how to create this look keep reading as I explain step by step how I achieved this look!
First off you want to make sure you have completed you normal skin care routine and have a clean, moisturized, and primed face.
Whenever I create a makeup look with a very intense and dramatic eye, I always start with the eyes! I used Mac Soft Ochre to prep and prime my lids before putting any shadow on. The first palette I used was Naked by Urban Decay. I started off with my transition shade in the color Naked, and then followed it with the color Buck to give me some more dimension. As I built up the color I then went into the Naked Smokey palette by Urban Decay. From this palette I used a combination of the two colors Whiskey and Password. I took these colors all the way into the inner corner to create a halo shape, leaving the center of the lid blank for now!
Once you have built up the colors that create the halo it’s time to go in with the star of the show! I reached for the Gems & Jewels palette by Sonia Kashuk to apply the emerald green pigment. I applied this with my finger to the center of my lid. I applied it with my finger because any pigment or glitter shadow always applies much better and exactly where you want if you use your finger rather than a brush.
To finish up the eyes I went into that same Sonia Kashuk palette and used the burgundy/red color on the lower lash line to give an extra pop of color! I used a black liner to tight line my lash line. You can’t forge about your brows! I use the Anastasia Brow Definer to fill mine in and I absolutely love it!! A coat of mascara was the last step to finish up the eyes.
Since the eyes were definitely the main focus of the look I completed my face pretty similar to my everyday look. I used a liquid medium to full coverage foundation by Glow Minerals in the shade neutral. For concealer I used Maybelline fit me in shade 20. I topped that with the shade Banana from the contour palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills and the rest of my face with a loose translucent powder by Make Up For Ever. Going in with that same contour palette I used the center, cooler shade to contour my cheekbones and temples. Some of my favorite blushed are from Urban Decay, so I mixed two shade from the Gwen Stefani collaboration palette called Hush and Angel. I used Champagne Pop a highlighter by Becca Cosmetics that was collaboration with Jaclyn Hill to highlight the tops of my cheekbones, nose, and cupids bow. Last, but certainly not least I used a liquid lip stain by Chanel in the color Tender Beige. I think a nice glossy nude shade goes perfect with this bold makeup look!!
I hope you all enjoy the holidays and have fun creating your own versions of different holiday makeup looks!
