Inspiration: Natural Holiday Look

When the Holidays come around we all love pairing a classic red lip with a little (or lot) of glitter/shimmer as eye shadow. However, for some of us who like a more natural and simple look -this makeup look is one way to make a statement in a quick and fun way.

I start by prepping the skin with a moisturizer and I added a bit of MAC Strobe Cream into my moisturizer to add a little glow to the skin. Depending on your skin type, I recommend using a hydrating foundation with light-medium coverage or even a bb cream. My skin is normal-to-sensitive, so I love using a mineralized foundation or even Kett airbrush foundation with a buffing brush.

For the eyes, you always want to prep the eyes with a primer. I like using the MAC paint pots and the one I used is, ‘painterly’. This looks is great for almost any eye shape and we are just using two eye shadows, which makes it super convenient! Any neutral matte light brown you have will work perfectly, you want to start placing that color right into your crease and blend out. Then place any mauve or bronze shadow with shimmer all over the lid and continue to blend. For added definition I like to tight-line with a waterproof or long wearing black kohl eyeliner pencil. If you wanted to add more drama to the eye, you can use a matte dark brown-black eye shadow with an angled brush and line the eyes or smudge your kohl liner onto the lid. Add mascara that will give you definition and volume.

For brows, you can fill them in or brush them out with a clear brow gel to set the brows in place.

For bronzer and blush, I kept it light and neutral. Added highlight will give you that glow, I would add a little on the cheekbone and down the bridge of the nose, as well as, over the cupids bow.

For lips, I love using a nude lip liner and a mineralized gloss with shimmer. I am using monotone colors to achieve a more natural look, however, if you’d like to add a pop of color on the lip –that would also look fabulous!  You want to set your makeup with a spray.

For longevity, I recommend Ben Nye setting spray or MAC fix + for a more dewy look. And that is all you need to achieve this look, hope you enjoy!
