Inspiration: 2017 Pantone Color of the Year

It’s that time again! Time to put the past behind us, and start anew!

Most New Year’s resolutions revolve around growth, revival, and invigoration, and that is precisely the inspiration behind this years Pantone color of the year, Greenery! What a better way to express a fresh new start than with this vibrant, and invigorating color?

The above quote from the Pantone Color Institute’s Executive Director, Leatrice Eiseman pretty much says it all. Basically, 2017 is yearning for this breath of fresh air, and we are here to talk about how to incorporate it into your beauty routine!

You may be thinking, “Sure, a bowl full of apples on my counter is great, but this green will never work on my skin.” Well I’m here to say that we should take a cue from this color and be bold! When used properly there are subtle (or not so subtle) ways to go green and make it work.

Lets start with the subtle…

How about donning those digits? Polish is always an easy way to sneak in a trend without being over the top, and with brands being quick to be on trend you won’t have any trouble finding that blooming shade. One of my favorite brands that have already come out with a Greenery Shade is Butter London.

  This quality polish will delivery the vibrancy that you are looking for, and since Butter London is an 8 Free brand you’ll be green for fashion and the environment!

Now lets talk eyes! There are so many variations of this color already on the market you can feel free to play with the tone or level to suit you and your skin. Just don’t be afraid to have a little fun and be brave.

Since Greenery is a naturally light and light reflecting color I would start by placing it on the inside corner of the eye and blending out into something darker and more neutral. Or when playing with a smokey eye place the color right in the center of the lid as a pop of color to freshen up your darker look.   Still not convinced? Well you are in luck, because Greenery is so much more than a color.
It is a feeling that can also be evoked through fragrance! You can leave this color to your home decor and still walk out the door in the morning feeling vivid, strong, and invigorated. My go to scent that calls forth the zestyness of Greenery would be Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche. Even the name speaks to this color trend and the bottle will even adds a little Greenery to your boudoir.

As 2017 begins I am sure you will begin to see this color take over collections like the vines it’s inspired from. We hope that this has given you the confidence to try this pigment in new and daring ways.
