When I say that I love fun lipstick colors, I mean that I LOVE them. I only seem to buy lipstick shades in dark purples, magenta’s and fiery reds. With the new trend of liquid lipsticks however, I find that my lips tend to get very dry when I wear lipstick everyday. I was so excited when I popped into Ulta and found out that Burt’s Bee’s has a line of lipsticks that promised moisture and longevity!
According to Burt’s Bee’s the product is “made with Moringa Oil, derived from a drought-resistant tree in tropical regions and Red Raspberry Seed Oil, known for containing high levels of essential fatty acids. These and other ingredients deliver the moisturizing benefits to Burt’s Bees Lipsticks, helps to soften and condition your lips.” They also claim it can withstand up to 8 hours of wear. I had to try it out!
I love the packaging it comes in, with the cut out honeycombs. It allows you to easily see the color if you have several lined up. I tried it out in Magenta Rush because it looked like a fun poppy spring color that I could wear in the coming spring months.
My first impression is that I love the pigmentation. It glided on smooth, much like their chapsticks and I could definitely feel that my lips were moisturized. The product felt comfortable to wear, much like the chapsticks. I decided to really put it through the test and see if I could get the promised 8 hours of wear. It did come almost completely off after I ate, it didn’t seem to stain my lips at all. I did need to reapply after eating and after a few hours of wear.
Overall I think these lipsticks are great to throw in your purse. They are pretty affordable and make a great alternative to a chapstick when you need a little lip hydration! You can find them HERE.
