Frizzy hair is caused by a number of things, including humidity, split ends, dryness, brushing incorrectly and using the wrong products. Once you understand all of the factors of hair frizz, it is easier to fight it to achieve a smooth look.
First the easy stuff. You have probably heard this said once or twice, but trim your hair every 6 weeks. This will get rid of the split ends and give your hair an overall smooth and healthy look. Another simple trick is to avoid brushing your hair when it is dry. You will want to comb your hair gently with a wide-tooth comb or your fingers once you are out of the shower to help prevent frizz.
Choosing the right products is a big part of dealing with frizz and it starts with the shampoo. Many shampoos and conditioners contain ingredients that will dry out hair and cause it to be more frizzy – such as Alcohol and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Be sure to read the labels of your products carefully.
Dryness is something that almost everyone deals with at some point. Whether you color your hair, treat it or use heat styling tools often – you know how dry, dull and lifeless (and frizzy!) your hair can get. Using a deep conditioner once a week will help restore moisture and the the hair’s natural oils which will make the hair healthier and smoother. Also, using a heat protectant spray before styling will help lock in the hair’s moisture and prevent some (not all) of the damage.

A boudoir is, by definition, is a woman’s private bedroom, sitting room or dressing room. Boudoir photography incorporates the idea of being in that private space and capturing that intimacy. The photos show a sensual and private side of a woman and creates beautiful images to have and to keep.
Although there may be some negative associations with boudoir photos being too erotic, tacky and tasteless. By working with the right photographer and knowing what you like, you can achieve a soft, classy look that create beautiful photos that can be framed instead of hidden in a drawer.
We think that boudoir photos are a great idea for life milestones such as a wedding, an anniversary, moving into a new home, after having a baby – anything. It is a reminder that although life can get crazy and overwhelming, it is important to feel beautiful and take time for yourself. Done right, we think boudoir photos can empower women to feel confident and sexy.

When dividing your colors into palettes, you can divide them by color groups, between mattes and shimmers, by neutrals or by what you use most frequently.
When placing the shadows in the palette, it is easy and more organized if the top row consists of the lightest colors which will work as your highlight. The middle row should consist of the blending shadows that are 1-2 shades darker. These colors work well as crease colors. The bottom row should be even darker and will work well on the lash line or the outer corner of the eye.

Pollen season is upon us! Allergies are rampant and people are flocking to the allergy aisles of the nearest pharmacy. Some people deal with allergies internally, like sneezing and coughing, and some people deal with more external symptoms such as swollen, dry and red skin around the eyes.
Unfortunately there isn’t much we can do from a makeup standpoint for the internal allergy sufferers, but for the people with dry, puffy and red allergy eyes – here are some helpful hints for you!
Besides allergy medication, make sure to use a cold compress on your eyes. While the skin is still moist, dab some oil (we love almond oil) around the eye to seal in some moisture. You also want to ensure that if you put makeup on your eyes that you clean your eyes well before bed.
AVOID:
* Red-based eye shadows
* Shimmery eye products
* Heavy products
* Building product on too thick
The trick with covering up the redness is to first use a color corrector. If the skin is red, use a green-based corrector and pat it on. Some people experience more of a purple than a red in the skin around their eyes. If so, use a orangey-yellow-based corrector.
Once you pat that on the affected areas you can use a lightweight, cream-based concealer.
This is a great time to go for the glossy look. We love MAC’s Mixing Medium Shine. With this product you can make any eyeshadow glossy. You can even take loose pigment, make it glossy and apply it with a brush.
