2011 Southern Bride and Groom Magazine!

We are so honored to be featured in another Southern Bride & Groom magazine this Winter/Spring!  Please contact us if you’d like a copy or stop by your local bridal show or Belk to pick up a copy.  You can also go to the Southern Bride & Groom website here to get a copy.

Here are some photos from our shoots that we did with Dara Blakely Photography at The Sutherland in Wake Forest.  Under those you’ll see photos from our shoot with Neil Boyd at the Nasher Museum of Art in Durham.  Enjoy!

Jenny + Jamie

Jenny and Jamie are two of my oldest friends.  Jamie and I used to go to daycare together (we won’t say how long ago that was!) and Jenny and I have been “bff’s” since 2nd grade.  Jenny and Jamie were married on October 30th in the gorgeous NC mountains at Lake Eden.  The weather could not have been more beautiful and neither could the bride.  The colors popped everywhere and sky was so blue.  The whole day was simply picturesque.

Here are some pictures of Jenny and Jamie’s stunning day by Stephen Torrence of Torrence Photography.  Outstanding photographers that we highly recommend to anyone getting married and looking for affordable, down-to-earth, fun-loving husband and wife duo that make you want to get married 2, 3 and 4 times (to the same person, of course) just to have them shoot your wedding over and over again!  (yes, that’s a plug because I want them to shoot me and Jeremy!) 🙂

Jamie–I’ve told you once and I’ll tell you again, you really lucked up with Jenny (but you know that)!  and Jenny, I can’t tell you enough, you’re the best friend anyone could ever have and I’m glad you’ve found a SECOND one in Jamie! lol!  Love you both!  Thanks for letting me share in your beautiful and memorable day and stand along side you as your Matron of Honor!

Kristen + James

Kristen and James were married in early October at the gorgeous Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary, NC.  This wedding was absolutely stunning…just like the bride!  I love all the colors incorporated and of course I love the international flair from the groom’s family.  James is of Korean origin so his family is seen wearing the Hanbok.  They are so gorgeous!!  Here’s what I found about them online: “The Hanbok, worn today are designed after those worn during the Confucian-oriented Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). The women’s hanbok is comprised of a wrap-around skirt and a jacket. It is often called chima-jeogori, the Korean word for skirt is ‘chima’ and ‘jeogori’  is the word for jacket”.  So awesome!  In addition, how much do you guys love these parasols?!

Thank you Kristen for letting me be part of your special day!  It was so lovely and Jen and I wish you much love for your marriage.  See you soon! 🙂

Carolyn + Madji

Undoubtedly two of the most attractive people we’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, Carolyn and Madji were stunning on their wedding day October 16th at the Angus Barn in Raleigh, NC.  Carolyn was such a joy to work with, not to mention made our job super easy with how gorgeous she is naturally!  Check out these beautiful photos by Paul Johnson Photography that showcase their awesome day.  Congrats to you both and thank you for letting us be part of your special day!  We enjoyed you and your family/friends!

Geoffrey and Nescel’s Wedding in NJ

Geoffrey and Nescel had a beautiful wedding in Jersey City, NJ this month. The ceremony was held at a Catholic church in Jersey City and the reception followed in Parsippany at Knoll Country Club.

The bride and groom planned a stunning reception with lots of fun things for guests. By far one of the best things there was a photo booth that was manned all night by a photographer that helped snap a succession of 4 pictures, then printed out a copy for the guest and a copy of the 4 for the bride and groom’s scrapbook. The guests could then leave a note for the happy couple by their picture to be cherished for years to come. (Being a scrapbooker, of course I got the biggest thrill out of that and wished I had thought of it for my wedding!!) 🙂 I’m enclosing a set of 4 with my hubby, sister-in-law, and nephew that is too cute! There were hats, glasses and other props to make it interesting!

For any brides out there looking for unique wedding favors, Geoff and Nescel gave wonderful eco-friendly bags in their wedding colors. You can find something similar by doing google searches for “eco bags” or “wedding eco bags”, etc. I also found a Facebook page of a vendor here: Ecobags.com. They are the coolest favors we’ve received in a long time because we actually USE them afterwards! (Thanks Geoff and Nescel!)

There were so many great things about this wedding in NJ. Family, friends and a beautiful new union. Congrats to them and we wish them the best!

Southern Bride and Groom Cover

We received the high res of our cover for Southern Bride and Groom magazine today and wanted to share it with all of you who haven’t gone out to get your own copy yet. We have tons in our office if you need one so please just give us a buzz or shoot us an email with your address if you’d like us to send one your way. Southern Bride and Groom magazine is a publication that comes out twice a year and is filled with loads of organizing tips for the bride-to-be. It is a one-stop-shop for all the best vendors in the area and has great articles about everything from gown shopping to choosing your photographer, etc.

We are named throughout the magazine several times as we assisted with a few photo shoots (all done by Marthanna Yater Photography) as well as had one of our brides featured with her wedding at the Carolina Inn! There is also an article in the magazine in which we contributed and it’s definitely worth checking out. Here are a few of the photos that made it into the magazine and check out the others in our gallery (being updated tomorrow). Enjoy! Let us know what you think!
